People behind the project
The idea of creating living accommodation at Golden Orangery Marrakech, was born out of two completely different cultures - Scandinavian and north African. Just as the property is built according to this unique blend of design and materials, so too was the project group assembled. Everyone contributes their own particular knowledge and cultural experience.
Amine Kabbaj & Bertil Mernsten
"As architect, we have enjoyed working with Golden Orangery Marrakech. It has been an exciting challenge to combine Moroccan ornamentation and building tradition with nordic participation. We hope that the villas in Orangery Marrakech provide high living standards in a unique atmosphere. We have also tried to ensure that the original orange plantation plays its part in the overall design."
Antoine van Dorne
"In working with the interior design of Golden Orangery Marrakech our goal has been to combine the best of two worlds - uncluttered Scandinavian design with great care taken in the detail and Moroccan handicraft skill and tradition. Our aim has been to bring to life the ideal expressed in the words, Two dreams. One story."
Richard Sandslätt
"In the Golden Orangery Marrakech project we have cooperated closely with local architects and project leaders in introducing tried and tested Scandinavian technology. Examples of this are the under-floor heating and the double- and triple-glazed windows."
"We have also sought wherever possible to make use of solar energy instead of traditional gas heating. With energy prices likely to rise in future, this should secure low operating costs. We have also done everything possible to protect and preserve for future generations the beautiful local environment when laying drains and providing utilities."
